British private equity fund Volpi Capital has acquired a majority stake in the Danish SaaS company Bluestar PLM.
Bluestar PLM offers a cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution embedded in the Microsoft Dynamics ERP platform. The company’s solutions are used by, among others, manufacturing companies to manage their product information.
Bluestar PLM was formed in 2001 and has approx. 60 employees across the headquarters in Aalborg and offices in the USA, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Volpi Capital invests mainly in IT and tech companies, typically within B2B, with enterprise values of EUR 50-200m. Since 2020, Volpi Capital has also been the majority owner of Danish Boyum IT Solutions, which has made three add-on acquisitions in the form of Paperflow, Perfion and NETRONIC with the assistance of Accura.
Backed by Volpi Capital, Bluestar BLM is now looking to strengthen its position internationally and to invest in AI solutions.
Accura advised Volpi Capital in connection with the transaction.
