The Danish climate and fintech company Agreena has raised EUR 46 million in a Series B investment round led by the German venture fund HV Capital as lead investor. Agreena has now raised more than EUR 67 million in five years.
The other investors in the round are Kinnevik, AENU, Anthemis, Gullspång, Re:food and Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund.
Agreena helps farmers transition to regenerative agriculture by drawing CO2down from the atmosphere and storing it within their soils. Based on this CO2 reduction, CO2 certificates are issued via Agreena’s platform which other businesses may purchase to compensate for their own emissions. In that way, farmers are able to finance their agricultural transition. Via Agreena’s digital platform, farmers may also plan, track and validate improvements for their regenerative journey.
HV Capital is one of the leading early-stage and growth investors in Europe and, since 2000, it has invested in around 225 internet and technology companies such as Zalando, Delivery Hero and HelloFresh.
