Danpal sold to Vestjysk Træemballage

The pallet supplier Danpal has been sold to Vestjysk Træemballage controlled by the Norwegian investment company Daimyo.

Danpal is a leading nationwide supplier of wood pallets and an expert in manufacturing speciality pallets and recycling Euro pallets with several leading Danish businesses as customers. Through the acquisition, Vestjysk Træemballage strengthens its ambition of becoming a leading Nordic player within wood packaging.

Danpal specialises in optimising pallet solutions to minimise environmental and climate impacts etc. At the same time, Danpal’s operations are very socially responsible, with almost 20% of the workforce being previously marginalised. The business also helps vulnerable unemployed people through work capacity assessments, supervised training etc. Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest has been a shareholder of Danpal since 2020 when Accura also assisted with the investment. Since then, the business has developed forcefully, both financially and socially.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest is Denmark’s first private equity fund focusing both on generating a financial return and achieving a social effect. The fund came from Den Sociale Kapitalfond, which has collaborated with far more than 100 socially responsible businesses concerning investments and business development since 2011. The investors include the European Investment Fund, the Danish Growth Fund, TryghedsGruppen and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Vestjysk Træemballage is owned by CEO Carsten Lund and Kurt Fiskbæk and the Nordic investment company Daimyo focusing on sustainable businesses.

Accura advised Danpal, Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest and other shareholders of Danpal in connection with the transaction.
