Vattenfall connects Danish offshore wind farm Vesterhav Syd to the grid

Vattenfall has achieved full grid connection with Vesterhav Syd.

All turbines are now connected to the Danish power grid delivering fossil-free energy to 170,000 Danish households making a significant contribution to the Danish energy transition. 

Vattenfall won the tender for Vesterhav Syd in 2016. The offshore wind farm comprises 20 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 168MW.

Vattenfall is also constructing the Vesterhav Nord offshore wind farm located 80 kilometres from Vesterhav Syd. Combined, the Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord offshore wind farms have a total installed capacity of 344MW equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 350,000 Danish households.
