REDUCED raises million kroner investment

The biotechnical company REDUCED has raised DKK 45m in an investment round led by Novo Holdings with participation by Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), Einar Willumsen and Rockstart AgriFood.

REDUCED produces sustainable natural flavour solutions by upcycling side streams from the food and agricultural industry, including apple cores, spent laying hens, shore crabs, broken rice and lentils and second-grade vegetables. A minimum of 80% of the products that the company is using would normally not be used for human consumption.

REDUCED was formed in 2020 by Emil Munck de Voss and William Anton Lauf Olsen with the ambition to help reduce food waste in the food industry. Today, the company has more than 100 customers within the catering, food service and food ingredients industry.

The goal of the investment is to develop technologies and new products.
