Norwegian Håndverksgruppen acquires four Danish painting businesses

For the first time, Norwegian Håndverksgruppen makes an investment in Denmark acquiring the four Danish painting businesses DSJ Malergruppe, C. Møllmann & Co., Malerfirmaet Jeppesen and Malerfirma Ernst Hansen.

DSJ Malergruppe consists of seven businesses and is located in Copenhagen with branches in South and West Zealand. The business has 90 employees and records revenue of DKK 85m.

C. Møllmann & Co. was formed in 1879 and is particularly known for its expertise within the restoration and renovation of buildings. The business is located in Copenhagen, has approx. 175 employees and records revenue of DKK 180m.

Malerfirmaet Jeppesen is a family-owned business located in Hirtshals and Aalborg, Denmark. The business was formed in 1960, has 60 employees and records revenue of approx. DKK 40m.

Malerfirma Ernst Hansen is located in Aarhus, Denmark, has 89 employees and records revenue of approx. DKK 55m. The business primarily operates in East Jutland.

The four painting businesses continue under their own names and the operation remains unchanged. All four owners of the four businesses also reinvest a substantial part of the sales price and become shareholders in Håndverksgruppen.

Now, Håndverksgruppen consists of 100 businesses in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The group records total revenue of approx. DKK 3.4bn with close to 3,000 employees. Håndverksgruppen is owned by the private equity fund FSN Capital and employees.

The investment in Denmark is part of Håndverksgruppen’s strategy to become a significant player within surface treatment in Scandinavia.
