The Danish company Jacob Holm & Sønner has been sold to Glatfelter Corp. for just under DKK 2 billion. The sellers are Poul Martin Mikkelsen and his son Martin Mikkelsen, the CEO of the company.
Jacob Holm & Sønner is the world’s second largest manufacturer of advanced fiber-based sustainable solutions and spunlace non-woven fabrics used for the manufacturing of sanitary pads, wet wipes, etc. The company has roots back to 1794 and has tripled in size over the last 6 years.
Glatfelter Corp. is a leading global supplier of engineered materials. The company is listed on NYSE in New York.
The transaction is subject to approval from the authorities.
