The Finnish food group Fazer Group has sold the restaurant and catering business Fazer Food Services to British Compass Group PLC for approx. EUR 475m, equal to a little more than DKK 3.5bn.
Fazer Food Services is a leading food service provider on the Nordic market. The business runs approx. 1,000 restaurants in the Nordic countries, 150 of which are located in Denmark, and employs a staff of approx. 7,000 people who will be included in the transaction.
Compass Group PLC is one of the world’s largest food service providers and operates in 45 countries and employs 600,000 people. The group specialises in supplying food services to the following sectors: business & industry, healthcare & seniors, education, sports & leisure and defence, offshore & remote.
The transaction is subject to the EU Commission’s merger control.
