Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest invests in BM Silo

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest has acquired 44% of the shares in the production company BM Silo.

BM Silo offers silos and transport equipment for storing and transporting dry materials to customers worldwide. The company has developed a modular system for silos in galvanised and stainless steel, enabling a combination of tailor-made solutions and efficient production for customers within the food sector and the plastics industry. This enables BM silo to ensure longer shelf life and better utilisation of natural resources such as grain and coffee.

BM Silo was formed in 1965 and has been owned by the Martinsen family for more than 50 years. The company has more than 35 employees in the factory in Tvis, Denmark.

BM Silo is one of the leading SMEs in Denmark in terms of social responsibility. The company includes and upskills young and marginalised young people and contributes to increased utilisation of resources and reducing the waste of raw materials.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest is Denmark’s first private equity fund focusing both on generating a financial return and achieving a social effect. The fund originates from Den Sociale Kapitalfond which has collaborated with more than 100 socially responsible businesses on investments and business development since 2011. The investors include the European Investment Fund, the Danish Growth Fund, TryghedsGruppen and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
