Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker has acquired the iconic Danish design brand Louis Poulsen in a billion-kroner transaction. Since 2018, Louis Poulsen has been owned by the Italian design conglomerate Flos B&B Italia Group.
Founded in 1874, Louis Poulsen is one of the most renowned names in Danish design history. The company is best known for lighting designs such as the Artichoke, Panthella and PH 5 and has helped shape Danish design through collaborations with leading designers and architects, including Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton and Vilhelm Lauritzen.
Under the ownership of Flos B&B Italia Group, Louis Poulsen has delivered sustained growth, driven in part by accelerated international expansion, including a strengthened presence outside the Nordic region and in key markets such as the United States and Japan.
With Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker’s acquisition, Louis Poulsen returns to Danish ownership and gains a long-term owner with experience from international design companies with Danish roots, including Fritz Hansen.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to complete during the second half of 2026.
