The building and rental company Birch Ejendomme has just announced the sale of 667 terraced houses across eight projects on Zealand and in Jutland, Denmark, to the real estate company Velkomn.
The billion-kroner transaction includes terraced house projects located in attractive fast-growing regional cities, such as Kalvehaven in Holbæk and Bækkelunden in Kolding. The transaction also includes both recently completed projects ready for occupation and incomplete projects, such as Sognevangen in Sorø, which is expected to be completed in September 2024. All properties included in the agreement are DGNB Gold certified.
Birch Ejendomme was formed in 2010 and, today, is one of Denmark’s leading developers of residential properties. In 2022, the company was sold to the British private equity fund Aermont Capital with the assistance of Accura. Since 2020, Birch Ejendomme has sold properties for a total amount of DKK 12bn to a wide range of national and international investors, but the sale to Velkomn marks the first large transaction since Aermont Capital took ownership.
