Billerud sells interest in Paper Bottle Company

The listed company Billerud has sold its interest in the Danish company Paper Bottle Company A/S, which develops and manufactures bottles from wood fibres.

Billerud has co-owned Paper Bottle Company since 2019 when Billerud entered into a joint venture agreement with Austrian ALPLA, who acquired an interest in Paper Bottle Company A/S. Since then, the two owners have collaborated on further developing the innovative products which aim at making a contribution to a more sustainable and circular packaging industry.

ALPLA now acquires Billerud’s interest in Paper Bottle Company A/S, which makes ALPLA the majority owner.

Billerud, formerly BillerudKorsnäs, is a world-leading provider of paper and sustainable packaging materials. Billerud has a revenue of SEK 42.6bn and 10 production units in Sweden, the USA and Finland. The company has approx. 6,100 employees in more than 13 countries and has customers in more than 100 countries.
