The US listed company MTS Systems Corporation acquires the following Danish engineering companies R&D Test Systems, R&D Engineering, R&D Steel, and R&D Tools and Structures and in addition R&D Prague (located in the Czech Republic) and RGDK Engineering Private Limited (located in India) (jointly “R&D”).
R&D is a recognised market leader in the field of design and manufacture of test systems. R&D supplies knowledge and turnkey solutions to customers in a wide range of industries, such as wind energy and aerospace, where accurate simulation of extreme operating environments encountered by large, rotating structures is vital.
With more than 3,000 employees and an annual turnover above DKK 5bn, MTS Systems Corporation is a leading global supplier of high-performance test and simulation systems and sensors. Following the acquisition, R&D will be reported as part of the Test & Simulation segment at MTS Systems Corporation.
The transaction will significantly expand MTS Systems Corporation’s test and simulation technology base and market presence in the wind energy and aerospace industries and provide leading turnkey project engineering and manufacturing capabilities for all customers worldwide.
The purchase price is DKK 550m (provided full payment under earn-out). The transaction is subject to merger filing and certain closing conditions.
