The insurance company Topdanmark takes over the Danish health insurance company Oona Health for DKK 2.25bn. The seller is the British private equity fund AnaCap Financial Partners and a number of minority shareholders.
Oona Health consists of the businesses Dansk Sundhedssikring, PrimaCare and DSS Hälsa. Dansk Sundhedsforsikring is the largest of these businesses and has gained a leading market share of 16% within the health insurance sector. Today, it has approximately 530,000 private customers and 15,000 business customers.
Topdanmark is one of Denmark’s largest insurance companies. The company has 2,100 employees and helps more than 110,000 business and agricultural customers and 600,000 private customers throughout Denmark.
With the acquisition of Oona Health, Topdanmark obtains a leading position on the market for health solutions.
The acquisition is conditional on the usual public authority approvals and is expected to be completed in 2023.
