In May 2017, Scandic together with its partners won the tender for a new, large hotel project near Aarhus Harbour which is scheduled to open in 2024.
Scandic has now signed the lease agreement for the hotel and conference center with a capacity of 500 hotel rooms and 2,000 conference guests.
The hotel and conference center will be located on Aarhus Ø and is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group with urban developer Rune Kilden and Bestseller owner Anders Holch Povlsen as owners and investors.
The hotel will also comprise a restaurant, nightclub, skybar and shops and will have a unique design with a spectacular view of the new harbour district in Aarhus.
Today, Scandic has three hotels in Aarhus and with the new hotel, Scandic strengthens its position as the leading hotel chain in the area.
