The data centre SDC has been sold to Netcompany for DKK 1 billion.
Netcompany will make the acquisition through the newly established company Netcompany Banking Services A/S, which will merge with SDC and become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Netcompany.
SDC was formed in 1963 and specialises in providing comprehensive IT solutions to the financial sector across the Nordic countries, including core banking systems, digital banking solutions and compliance tools. SDC is owned by its customers and users who are a large number of small and medium-sized financial institutions.
SDC is headquartered in Ballerup and has 980 employees in Denmark, Norway and Poland.
Netcompany is a leading IT services provider offering IT solutions to the public and private sectors with a strong focus on digital transformation in Europe. Founded in 2000, Netcompany is headquartered in Copenhagen and has more than 8,000 employees in nine countries.
In collaboration, Netcompany and SDC now want to fundamentally transform the entire banking market, not just in Denmark and the Nordic countries, but eventually throughout Europe.
The transaction is subject to the usual public authority approvals and is expected to be completed during Q2 2025.
Accura assisted the banks in their capacity as owners and customers of SDC in relation to the sale of SDC. Accura assisted and continues to assist the banks in negotiating a new outsourcing agreement and new project agreements and in establishing a governance structure.
