Saint-Gobain sells Protræ to jem & fix

The multinational French group Saint-Gobain has sold Protræ to the DIY chain jem & fix.

Protræ has more than 40 years’ experience of wood processing and surface treatment of raw wood for the construction industry. The company has approx. 100 employees in Rødding and Holsted, Denmark, and generated approx. DKK 1bn in revenue in 2021.

Saint-Gobain is a global leading manufacturer and distributor of building materials and other industrial products, employing more than 166,000 people worldwide. Protræ has been a part of the Saint-Gobain Group since 2008, and the divestment is a part of a strategy to optimise Saint-Gobain’s portfolio of businesses.

The transaction is completed as a carve-out from Saint-Gobain’s other Nordic distribution businesses, and the agreement is subject to the usual public authority approvals.

Accura advised Saint-Gobain in connection with the transaction, including in relation to the completion of the carve-out and the conclusion of a large agreement on the delivery of transition services.
