The Danish podcasting and audiobook subscription service Podimo has acquired the Dutch production company Tonny Media.
Tonny Media specialises in producing podcasts and is known for various formats featuring prominent Dutch personalities etc. Formed in 2020, the company also has extensive expertise within social media and video production.
Podimo and Tonny Media were already well acquainted as the two companies entered into a strategic partnership in 2022 when Podimo was launched in the Netherlands. Subsequently, Podimo also acquired the production house Dag en Nacht Media. The plan is now to combine the sales forces of Tonny Media and Dag en Nacht Media to be able to attract larger advertising partners.
Podimo was formed in 2019 and is a service offering an extensive catalogue of original and exclusive podcasts and audiobooks. Podimo is available in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Finland and Latin America and employs more than 220 people across more than 20 countries.
Accura advised Podimo and existing shareholders in connection with the transaction and has advised Podimo since its formation, including in connection with all previous investment rounds and acquisitions.
