Parken Sport & Entertainment has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the energy company Andel, which will cover approximately half of the group’s annual electricity consumption going forward, including both Parken and the three Lalandia centres.
The electricity will partly come from Andel’s newest solar park in Vedde, located in central Zealand, which is now connected to the power grid. The solar park contains more than 180,000 solar panels and spans an area equivalent to around 151 football fields. The agreement ensures that a significant portion of Parken’s consumption is matched by solar energy.
The partnership with Andel is part of F.C. Copenhagen’s initiative, ForKBH, which aims to increase the club’s social engagement and contribution to the Danish capital.
