NORTH sold to British insurance group

The private equity fund Polaris has sold the financial advisory house NORTH to the British insurance group Howden.

NORTH is Denmark’s leading impartial financial advisory house within business insurance, company pension, financial products and mortgage credit. Since its formation in April 2021, NORTH has acquired 24 advisory businesses with assistance from Accura and, today, has approx. 260 employees.

Howden is headquartered in London and is one of the world’s largest insurance groups. The business employs 15,000 people in 50 countries and has earned premiums of USD 35bn (approx. DKK 240m).

Going forward, the plan is that NORTH will be decentralised under its own brand.

Accura advised NORTH in connection with the transaction and has been an advisor to Polaris and NORTH since their formation and in connection with all acquisitions.
