Nordic Capital sells Unisport

The private equity fund Nordic Capital has sold the online football retailer Unisport to Polish R-Gol, a leading distributor of football merchandise in Central and Eastern Europe.

Unisport was formed in 1995 and is among the largest European distributors of football and sports products today. Approx. 90% of Unisport’s revenue comes from online sales via local web shops in a number of European countries and an English-language website selling to the rest of the world. In addition to the online platform, Unisport also has three flagship stores in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Paris and a stadium store at Norway’s national football stadium Ullevaal in Oslo.

Unisport also has a one of the world’s most extensive football loyalty programmes with approx. 1.6m loyalty members.

Nordic Capital is a leading private equity investor and has invested more than EUR 25bn in more than 145 businesses since its formation in 1989. Nordic Capital has owned Unisport since 2015.
