Molslinjen acquires the ferry operator ForSea

Molslinjen has acquired the ferry operator ForSea, which operates the ferry route Helsingør-Helsingborg.

ForSea transports about seven million passengers, 440,000 trucks, 16,000 buses and more than one million passenger cars on the route between Denmark and Sweden every year. The company employs more than 600 people.

ForSea has made massive investments in electrically powered ferries and is among the leading companies in the transportation industry within the green transition.

Molslinjen is Denmark’s largest passenger ferry company with more than 1,200 employees and 15 vessels, sailing on nine different routes in Denmark, including connections to Sweden and Germany. Molslinjen is also co-owner of Kombardo Expressen, operating bus routes all over Denmark.

Molslinjen is owned by EQT, which has great experience with sustainable development of transport and logistics businesses.

The transaction is conditional on the usual public authority approvals.
