LEO Pharma borrows DKK 11bn to realise its growth plans

The Danish pharmaceutical company LEO Pharma has borrowed DKK 11bn to finance its growth plans.

Most of the loan of DKK 7.5bn is granted by the banks Nykredit, Danske Bank, Nordea, and Jyske Bank together with Norwegian DNB. The LEO Foundation has provided the rest of the loan amount in the form of a shareholder loan.

The proceeds will be used e.g. to finance already completed acquisitions, including the acquisition of a product portfolio from Bayer, and also allow for additional acquisitions.

Moreover, the loan amount provides the possibility of investing DKK 1.5bn in the construction of a new Fucidin factory in Ballerup.

Accura advised the banks in connection with the financing.
