Kirk Kapital acquires one-third of Scanmetals

The Danish investment company Kirk Kapital has acquired 35% of the share capital in Scanmetals.

Scanmetals is a Danish company that uses an innovative and sustainable technology to recover metallic waste from incineration ash to be recycled into, for example, aluminium foil or beer cans.

Today, Scanmetals recovers 150 tons of metals daily and operates large recycling plants in Denmark and the UK.

The company was founded in 2009 by CEO Ejvind Pedersen who continues to be the majority shareholder.

The investment is in line with Kirk Kapital’s strategy to acquire large minority interests in well-established and well-managed businesses with a great potential for growth.
