The financial advisory firm Howden Danmark has acquired SPECIAL RISK – forsikringsformidling ApS. The acquisition is part of Howden Danmark’s strategy to expand and strengthen its agency platform in Denmark. SPECIAL RISK continues as an independent business under its own name and brand with Morten Klitvad as CEO.
SPECIAL RISK was established in 2020 with a focus on niche insurance and has, among other things, established a position as an advisor to the jewellery industry. Since 2022, SPECIAL RISK has acted as a service partner for the underwriter distribution channels of Danish insurance companies, focusing on enrolment and servicing corporate customers, particularly in the SME segment.
Howden Danmark is Denmark’s leading impartial financial advisory firm within business insurance, company pension, financial products, claims advisory services and mortgage credit. Howden Danmark, formerly known as NORTH, is part of the global insurance group Howden Group which operates in 56 countries and has more than 22,000 employees. Howden Group acquired NORTH in 2024.
After the acquisition of SPECIAL RISK, Howden Danmark has 510 employees and an annual revenue of DKK 610 million.
