GN Store Nord acquires Danish gaming success

GN Store Nord has entered into an agreement with the Danish private equity firm Axcel about the acquisition of the gamer company SteelSeries. The purchase price is DKK 8 billion.

SteelSeries is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of software-enabled gaming gear and is particularly known for its gaming headsets, keyboards and mice.

SteelSeries is particularly targeted at and widely recognized by e-sport gamers throughout the world who swear by SteelSeries’ products because of the superior quality and innovative design and technology.

The company was founded in 2001 by Jacob Wolff-Pedersen and has been owned by Acxel since 2019. SteelSeries has 350 employees across offices in Denmark, France, the United States, China and Taiwan.

In connection with the acquisition of SteelSeries, GN Store Nord gains a strong position within the high-end gaming segment. In recent years, the segment has experienced significant growth and is likely to continue to grow.
