First commercial scale offshore wind park in Japan finished installation

The Akita Noshiro Offshore Wind Project with an installed capacity of 140MW has finished installation and has become the first large-scale offshore wind power project in Japan. The project is located in Akita Prefecture, Japan, and has a project cost of approximately JPY 100bn (EUR 710m).

Since 2017, the Renewable Energy team at Accura has assisted Akita Offshore Wind Corporation (“AOW”) in the contracting process with both EPCI and turbine delivery as well as throughout the project execution.

The owner, AOW, consists of 13 shareholders, including 7 companies located in Akita, and the development has been led by our longstanding client Marubeni Corporation.
