EU fund invests in Danish nanotechnology company

The Danish nanotechnology company NIL Technology has secured DKK 200m in connection with an investment round.

One of the investors is EIC Fund which is an investment fund in an EU context investing in innovative businesses which operate within e.g. basic research and deep tech.

NIL Technology was formed at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2006, and, since its formation, it has sold technology to development departments in large global technology companies. The company has developed a method which can produce optical lenses that are much better than the solutions on the market today by using nanotechnology.

The technology is used e.g. for facial recognition in smartphones. In addition to smartphones, the technology may, over time, be used in autonomous cars, robots, drones, VR/AR, etc.

NIL Technology has 60 employees and has offices in Lyngby, Zürich, New York and Gothenburg.
