Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Lundsby sign EPC contract to finalise construction of Tønder Biogas

Through its CI Advanced Bioenergy Fund I, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (“CIP”) has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) contract with Danish biogas technology provider Lundsby Renewable Solutions A/S. The EPC contract is for the design and construction of the remaining facility of Tønder Biogas, located in the Southern part of Jutland, Denmark.

At full capacity, the facility will be one of the largest biogas plants in Europe, converting approximately 900,000 tonnes of green sustainable feedstock into approximately 40 million nm3 of renewable natural gas. Tønder Biogas achieved first gas in November 2022 and is currently approximately 25% finalised. Construction of the remaining part of the facility will begin this summer and completion is expected in 2025.

As lead counsel to CIP, Accura has assisted with the drafting and negotiation of all documentation relating to the project.
