Chr. Hansen Natural Colors acquires Spanish ingredients business

Chr. Hansen Natural Colors has acquired the Spanish ingredients business SECNA Natural Ingredients Group (“SECNA”).

SECNA has activities in Spain, Italy and Turkey, and the business manufactures colours on the basis of naturally occurring fruit and vegetable concentrates, including pigments from black carrots, beetroots and grape fruits.

With the acquisition of SECNA, Chr. Hansen Natural Colors strengthens its position as a global market leader in the development and manufacture of natural colouring ingredients for food.

Chr. Hansen Natural Colors was acquired by the private equity fund EQT in the autumn of 2020, and the acquisition of SECNA is the first acquisition for Chr. Hansen Natural Colors with EQT as owner.

Accura advised EQT and Chr. Hansen Natural Colors in connection with the transaction.
