BWES and 3 S sold to Hanseatic Power Service

The German energy service group Hanseatic Power Service (“HPS”) has acquired BWES and 3 S, two renowned Danish businesses within welding, forging and industrial services.

BWES and 3 S operate as one integrated organisation and provide comprehensive solutions within pressure equipment and structural steel, including project management, forging and welding services for power plants, industrial facilities and other highly specialised environments. The activities include the energy and utilities sector and the pharmaceutical industry. The businesses are characterised by strong skills in certified welding and inspection of pressure vessels, pipes and steel structures.

HPS is majority-owned by the Swiss private equity firm Ufenau Capital Partners and is a provider of TIC&S services (Testing, Inspection, Certification & Service) specialising in the repair, maintenance and testing of generators, electric motors and electrical systems.

The acquisition of BWES and 3 S marks an important milestone in HPS’s buy-and-build strategy and establishes the group in Scandinavia. The integration of the Danish businesses will provide HPS with specialised knowhow, strengthen the group’s capabilities in advanced welding and forging services and create a strong foundation for further growth in the region.
