Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner sold to international auction house

The Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner (“Bruun Rasmussen”) has been sold to the global auction house Bonhams.

Bruun Rasmussen was formed in 1948 by Arne Bruun Rasmussen on the well-known address Bredgade 33 in the heart of Copenhagen and has been owned by the family up until now.

Today, the auction house has more than 140 employees and is among the leading auction houses in Scandinavia, and about 75,000 lots are put up for auction each year.

Bonhams was formed in 1793 and is one of the world’s largest and most renowned auction houses. The business has a network of offices and representatives in 22 countries. Bonham’s flagship salerooms are located in London, New York, Los Angeles and Paris and also has salerooms in Edinburgh and Sydney.
