Biogen sells its Danish company to FUJIFilm in billion-kroner transaction

FUJIFilm has acquired Biogen’s Danish biotechnology manufacturing company at a price of USD 890m, corresponding to approx. DKK 6bn.

Biogen is one of the world’s largest global biotechnology companies and is leading within innovative scientific research.

Biogen’s Danish company is located in Hillerød and consists of extensive, high-technology manufacturing, laboratory and logistics facilities. The company employs approx. 800 persons who will all continue under FUJIFilm’s ownership.

FUJIFilm will e.g. use the factory in Hillerød to manufacture commercial products for Biogen and other biotechnology companies.

FUJIFilm is based in Tokyo and is one of the largest operating companies in FUJIFilm Holdings. The company develops solutions within a broad portfolio of chemical, mechanical, optical and visual technologies.

The transaction is conditional on the usual public authority approvals.
