The Swedish pharmaceutical company Atos Medical has been sold to Coloplast for DKK 16bn (EUR 2.155bn).
Atos Medical is the global market leader in laryngectomy, a surgical procedure where the voice box is removed. The company develops voice protheses and lung rehabilitation products to patients who have had their voice box removed, e.g. in connection with a cancer surgery.
Before the acquisition, Atos Medical was owned by the French private equity fund PAI Partners together with executive employees.
The transaction is subject to approval from the authorities.
