Aspirity Partners has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Danish IoT company Onomondo from Verdane, the company’s founders and a number of other shareholders as part of a combined investment of more than EUR 100m. Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), which has invested in Onomondo since 2021, will also increase its stake in the company.
Founded in Denmark in 2012, Onomondo provides global Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity infrastructure through its proprietary technology platform. The company offers access to nearly 700 mobile networks worldwide and serves more than 500 customers across more than 180 countries. Its technology includes SoftSIM, Cloud Connectors and solutions that enable devices to operate across both public and private networks.
Aspirity Partners is a pan-European private equity firm focusing on growth buyouts and strategic minority investments in European technology-enabled businesses.
The investment will support Onomondo’s continued international expansion, further scaling of its infrastructure and development of new products. The transaction marks Aspirity Partners’ first investment in the Nordic region.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
