Again raises USD 43m in a series-A investment round

The Danish biotech company Again has raised USD 43m in a series-A investment round with the German venture fund HV Capital and Google’s venture company GV (Google Ventures) as lead investors. The participants in the investment round included Kompas VC, Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), CSC Leasing, ACME Capital and Atlantic Labs. Again has now raised a total of USD 100m since its formation in 2021.

Again has developed a technology converting CO2 into chemicals, such as acetic acid, which may be used in, for example, paint, adhesives and recyclable plastics. In the process, CO2 is captured in a bioreactor and used in a fermentation process with a specific bacterium, transforming CO2 into sustainable chemicals. The new investment will be used for developing a large plant and accelerating a global roll-out of Again’s decarbonisation technology.

Torbjørn Ølshøj Jensen, Maximilian Kufner and Alex Toftgaard Nielsen are behind Again and they have been working on the technology spun out of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) since 2013. Again has approx. 30 employees.

Accura advised Again in connection with the investment.
