The private equity firm Triton has sold the taxi company Dantaxi to Uber Technologies Inc. (“Uber”).
Dantaxi has been in operation since 1937. With approximately 1,900 vehicles, Dantaxi serves 75 of Denmark’s 98 municipalities, making it the country’s largest taxi company. It is also among the leading companies in the industry’s green transition, with over 800 electric taxis on the roads.
The acquisition follows Uber’s launch in Copenhagen earlier in 2025 and highlights Uber’s long-term goal of improving mobility in Denmark by combining its cutting-edge technology with Dantaxi’s local service.
Dantaxi will continue to operate its local taxi services, but its extensive network of professional drivers will be integrated into Uber’s platform.
Triton is a leading European private equity firm focused on mid-sized businesses in three core sectors: business services, industrial technology, and healthcare. Triton has owned Dantaxi since 2018.
