GaveFabrikken sold to Capidea

The founder and sole owner of GaveFabrikken Nikolai Kiim has sold GaveFabrikken to the Danish private equity fund Capidea. The seller has reinvested and holds a significant minority share after the sale.

GaveFabrikken is the leading supplier of company (Christmas) presents in the Nordic region and delivers more than one million Christmas presents to Danish businesses and their employees every year. GaveFabrikken has approx. 70 full-time employees and approx. 200 seasonal employees.

The business has been on an impressive growth journey since it was formed in 2008 and has evolved from being a challenger to becoming an absolute leader in the Nordic region. GaveFabrikken’s most recently published financial statements (2022/23) showed revenue of approx. DKK 356m and EBITDA of approx. DKK 48m before normalisation adjustments. The financial statements for 2023/24 are expected to be published within a month and, once again, reflect a significant increase in GaveFabrikken’s key figures. The parties have chosen not to disclose the purchase price.

The transaction is conditional on the usual public authority approvals.

Capidea primarily makes long-term investments in businesses within industry, trade, distribution, software and service and has a total committed capital of approx. DKK 3.6bn.

As the majority owner, Capidea brings new resources and competences to GaveFabrikken’s ambitious growth plans focusing, for example, on improving the customer experience and capturing additional international market shares.
