Ekstra Bladet acquires 30% of the podcast medium Mediano.
Mediano is a Danish medium that mainly produces sports journalism in audio format, primarily as football podcasts. The medium was founded in 2016 and, today, it has almost 11,000 subscribers. Moreover, the medium has produced more than 6,000 episodes and has been downloaded over 100 million times.
Ekstra Bladet is part of JP/Politiken Media Group and is one of Denmark’s leading news media with close to one million daily users.
The acquisition is an important part of Ekstra Bladet’s efforts to strengthen its within sports, and it is the fourth acquisition in three years. Ekstra Bladet has already acquired Bold, Feltet and Holdet.dk. Mediano will continue as a separate medium under Ekstra Bladet’s ownership.
