The Danish fintech company Aiia has been sold to Mastercard, one of the world’s largest technology companies in the payments industry.
The sellers are different investors, including Danske Bank, DNB Ventures and the company’s founders.
Aiia is a leading open banking platform in Europe allowing third parties to access and withdraw money from customers’ accounts with the customers’ permission. Furthermore, the technology enables customers to view accounts across banks.
Aiia was founded in 2010. The company has connections to more than 2,700 banks across Europe and processes more than 1 million account-to-account payments every month.
The transaction is subject to approval from the authorities.
