The circular bioeconomic group BioCirc has entered into its first-ever power purchase agreement (PPA) with the agricultural company DLG Group.
Under the PPA, BioCirc will deliver approximately 60 GWh of green electricity over the next ten years, equivalent to 50% of DLG Group’s annual electricity consumption in Denmark. The electricity will be delivered from two new solar parks Vinkel Sol and Kvorning Sol that BioCirc is set to establish in the municipalities of Skive and Viborg. The projects are expected to be operational in 2025 and 2026 and represent major steps toward achieving climate goals for both partners.
The PPA highlights BioCirc’s commitment to developing land-based, circular energy clusters that combine renewable electricity generation with technologies such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), Power-to-X, and biomethane production. These initiatives are designed to address the growing need for green electricity, gas, fuel and heat.
Through this agreement, BioCirc supports DLG Group’s objective of cutting its carbon emissions by 25,000 tons of CO2 each year, setting the stage for a 50% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
Accura’s Renewable Energy team advised BioCirc on the drafting of the PPA.
