STARK Group sold for DKK 7.7bn

Ferguson plc, who is one of the world’s leading distributors of plumbing products, has sold off the DIY chain STARK Group for approx. DKK 7.7bn. The buyer is the American private equity fund Lone Star Capital. The sale of the STARK Group has taken place shortly after the STARK Group’s sale of the DIY chain SILVAN to Aurelius in Germany.

The STARK Group operates DIY chains in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Greenland. The chain primarily sells construction materials to professional customers and has more than 5,000 employees in the Nordic countries. SILVAN primarily sells construction materials to private customers from its shops in Denmark.

Tue Ravnholt Frandsen and Lars Mygind Bojsen advised Ferguson and the STARK Group in connection with both the sale of STARK Group and the sale of SILVAN. Tue and Lars provided the advice before joining Accura.
